The Breakwater ‘Platform to Share’ is a way in which we can communicate ideas with our clients – updating them on the latest technologies that support their organisation to reduce risk and increase productivity.
It was great to see so many of our clients all coming together to discover more about how we deliver effective, easy to use technology systems. A ‘Platform to Share’, or user group, enables us to get into the detail behind the support we offer and how we monitor your systems to address any issues before they arise.
Within each of our groups we look to invite an external speaker along and we were lucky enough to hear from three innovative companies in our September session.
Webroot shared their insights on the three key ways to prevent and protect your organisation from a cyber-attack. This covered the various roles in creating a multi-layered cyber security strategy – people, processes and technology, security awareness, DNS protection and the importance of Endpoint protection in predicting and preventing malware.
Mimecast talked us through their cyber resilience strategy for email and the need for an all-encompassing approach that takes in threat protection, recoverability, durability and adaptability.
Webroot and Mimecast are just two of the industry-leading partners that we work with at Breakwater, and using a combination of their proven solutions with our advice on back-up, anti-virus, business continuity and training, we can help devise a comprehensive security strategy for your organisation.
We were also delighted to welcome along Alton Nutile, Head of Commerical at Dardan Security. Alton gave an insightful presentation into their SharePoint site, the Dardan Hub. Designed and implemented by Breakwater’s SharePoint Developer, the Hub has become the primary communication tool across Dardan’s nationwide sites and its 450+ employees. In utilising the capabilities of SharePoint, Dardan have created huge cost and time efficiencies across the business when it comes to dealing with such things as uniform, holiday and extra shift requests, in addition to staff welfare appraisals, letters, templates, presentations and expense claims.
In future groups we want to talk about the topics that matter to you – do get in touch if there is a particular area of technology you would like to learn more about. Look out for more details of our next ‘Platform to Share’ to be held in December.
Thank to you all our clients for supporting us with this initiative – we look forward to it evolving with you.
I am the first point of contact for clients, resolving enquiries and providing advice to ensure their systems are running efficiently.
