On Saturday 31 October the UK Government announced a second lockdown across England. It will begin on Thursday 5th November and is expected to end on Wednesday 2 December. In response to this, we wanted to give advice and an update on how we will adapt.
Although we expect many businesses will be able to function from home as before, if you need any support or equipment to do so, please send your requests in as soon as possible. Although the lockdown is only expected to last four weeks, we cannot predict how the situation will develop. If you find your home setup isn’t allowing you to work as efficiently as you’d like, speak to us. We can offer advice on how to make this better.
We anticipate there will be another shortage of portable devices, such as laptops and tablets. Considering this we encourage you to plan as early as you can.
Test your setup
For some, it may have been a while since you last worked at home. Make sure you test your home setup before Thursday. This could include:
- Docking Stations
- Telephone Systems
If you have any issues, please let us know.
How we will adapt:
As an essential business service, we will be keeping our office open. Four members of staff will continue to work in the office full-time. As a result, we will be able to continue carrying out crucial work such as builds, deliveries, telecoms work and more.
As we welcomed staff back to the office in August, we introduced our desk booking app. This allowed staff to manage their days in the office whilst keeping office capacity low. However, we will reduce the number of desks available to book to only allow critical work to continue in the office.
Site visits will continue only to carry out essential work. Visitors will be allowed into our office to collect equipment, such as laptops, that are needed to carry out work. Visitors will need to complete our COVID-19 visitor’s form and follow our guidance when visiting.
Above all, if you need any advice, support, or just fancy a chat please do give us a call (or a video call!). We’re here for you and want to continue staying connected. Stay safe.
Technology is such an interesting and ever-evolving field and in my role I am fortunate to be able to expand my knowledge whilst undertaking hands-on projects to support our clients.
As part of the Service Desk, we work together to deliver advice to a wide range of organisations and I assist the team by helping to resolve issues and respond to enquiries, grasping new technologies and processes as I go.View my profile >
We are pleased to share that Jordan Getley, Junior Systems Engineer, has been promoted to a Level 1 Service Desk Team Leader.
