ISO 27001 is recognised worldwide as the standard for information security management.
Breakwater IT has shown that we have reached the high standards set by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) through our achievement of the ISO 27001 certification.
To gain the ISO 27001 award, we proved that we could not only prevent but defend against potential data system vulnerabilities. This achievement was due to our comprehensive suite of information security controls and the management system we introduced to ensure these controls remain efficient and continue to meet our customers’ needs.
An annual audit is carried out by an external third party to ensure our systems continue to meet the stringent requirements set out in the ISO 27001 standard.
Our Managing Director, John Gostling said: “We are proud to have achieved the ISO 27001 and it reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a systematic approach across all of our processes and technology, effectively protecting and managing the assets of our clients.”
John Flynn, the Consultant from QMS International, commented that “Over a period of 4 days of intensive scrutiny of their systems, Breakwater IT participated in a consultancy to determine how they measured up to the requirements of ISO 27001. With the assistance of John Gostling (MD), Stuart Moll (Technical Director) and Jack Fisher (Operations Director), Breakwater IT took all of the technical requirements of the standard in their stride and showed themselves to be a progressive IT company who are determined to make their mark”.
Technology is such an interesting and ever-evolving field and in my role I am fortunate to be able to expand my knowledge whilst undertaking hands-on projects to support our clients.
As part of the Service Desk, we work together to deliver advice to a wide range of organisations and I assist the team by helping to resolve issues and respond to enquiries, grasping new technologies and processes as I go.View my profile >
