When he’s not down the slopes he’s usually up a ladder. For all things communication, Paul is your man.
Paul looks after orders for new telecoms systems, lines, and internet connectivity. As well as conducting site meetings to assess the needs for new systems. Paul then programs, installs, and trains end-users on the systems.
In addition to this, Paul looks after a vast majority of the moves and changes once the system is up and running. Although he is the Telecoms Engineer, Paul also looks after all the cabling requirements for our customers as well as Wi-Fi surveys and deployment and CCTV.
We asked Paul:
Tell us about your previous experience:
I have been working in Telecommunications for 24 years working all over the country for various companies. The last 5 years have been spent at Breakwater looking after their telecommunications side of the business. I enjoy the mix of consultative and ‘hands-on’ experience that my role involves. It’s nice to be able to follow a project through – from deciding on the right solutions, through to installation and ongoing management.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
When I’m not immersed in the world of telecoms, I like to keep active by skiing, canoeing and mountain biking as well as attempting some DIY on my house. I always have a project on the go. More leisurely pursuits include spending time with my family on cinema trips and cooking on the BBQ, regardless of the weather!
Name one thing about you that surprises people:
In my youth, I used to be on the Norfolk Slalom Ski Team. Also, one thing that may surprise you is, even though whilst cabling I spend a lot of my working day in lofts a crawling through tight spaces, I am prettified of spiders 🙁
Always a pleasure to work with Paul. Thanks for all your help today and talking me through the Horizon Admin functions which I will now be able to undertake myself.
