As Technical Director I focus on the solutions, products and processes used to ensure the smooth-running of clients’ systems.

Having the right technologies and supporting processes in place shapes the way a system works. My role allows me to directly influence both the solutions used within Breakwater and those we recommend to our clients. I work with our network administration and centralised services functions to offer a proactive service that develops with the client.

One of my specialisms is in network technologies. As a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), I enjoying focusing on the configuration and support of routers, firewalls, switches and wireless access points.

My experience and values

I joined the Breakwater Service Desk in 2012. In 2015 I was promoted to a Senior Systems Engineer, and following this Technical Director in 2019. IT is a stimulating field to work in. I have been lucky in the technical expertise I have taken on. This includes my work with Breakwater and with a previous role for a large printing company.

I have experience in implementing large-scale projects, including site-wide system refreshes and the installation of wireless networks.

My Open Degree, covered both the support and development aspects of IT and I am also a VMWare Certified Associate in Data Centre Virtualisation – skilled in designing, installing and managing VMWare environments.

Life outside Breakwater

When I’m not being a Technical Director, I enjoy playing my guitar and am a keen follower of cricket and football.
