Do you have old laptops hanging around that are no longer in use? Send them to us to be repurposed for local schools and charities in Norwich and Norfolk!
In early 2021, students returned to online learning due to the pandemic. However, there are some who may not possess the equipment to access remote learning. It’s estimated that 6,000 devices are needed by schools and academies in Norfolk.
In an aid to help, The Forum generously offered to send their old laptops back to us for repurposing. Following this, we decided to start asking our clients if they had any old laptops they wished to donate. We are pleased to now be opening the project to all businesses and individuals to donate.
Our team will rebuild and replace the hard drives in the laptops. As a result of replacing the hard drives, there is no risk of data being leaked. Ideally, the laptops will need to be less than 5 years old and running Windows 10 or 11.
Here’s how it will work:
- Send us an email stating how many laptops you have, how old they are and any other information you can provide on their condition/operating systems.
- We’ll get in touch to let you know if we’re able to use your device(s) and arrange to get them to us.
- Our team will rebuild and replace the hard drive(s) in the laptop(s). As a result of replacing the hard drive(s), there is no risk to data being leaked. Your old hard drive(s) will be professionally destroyed, and a blank copy of Windows will be installed.
- We’ll distribute the laptops to those in need.
So, if you’re a business or an individual with an old laptop hanging around, get in touch and let us know!
Reminder: ideally the laptops will need to be:
- Less than five years old
- Still in reasonable working condition – screen working, no keys missing, battery working etc., normal wear and tear is fine
- Running Windows 10 or Windows 11
