On Saturday 21st June, Alec, Aqeel, Leon, Sam and Andy took on the Race Against the Sun (RATS) challenge to raise money for the Community Sports Foundation.
Alarms going off at 3am, and the anticipation of the hottest day of the year so far, our team headed out the door to the start line of RATS 2025.
On arrival, challenge tops were handed out, GPS trackers received and last minute sun screen was applied. At 4:15am, the race began from Cromer.
They started with great pace, hoping to take on as much of the challenge quickly before the temperatures rose to 30+degrees throughout the day.
Throughout the challenge, they were greeted and supported by an incredible team of staff and volunteers from the Foundation – offering food, drinks, toilets, cheers, music, and encouraging spirits.
Despite the heat, they pushed through, with our quickest walkers making it across the finish line an hour ahead of sunset. We couldn’t be prouder of them all.
Congratulations team RATS on completing the challenge and raising over £1,600! 👏
A huge thank you goes to the Community Sports Foundation. They not only put on an incredible event, but continue to work hard towards their mission of driving inclusion for people with disabilities, boosting mental health and wellbeing, and supporting disadvantaged people to raise their aspirations.
