Andy Malcolm
Strategic Services Manager
Andy knows Breakwater inside and out, having joined us when we were just two years old back in 2007!
As Strategic Services Manager, Andy heads up our Network Admin side of the Service Desk. This includes managing our team of pro-active engineers who work to prevent issues from happening before they reach the client, therefore reducing downtime. This is achieved through monitoring, data analysis and developing new methods for spotting and resolving potential problems before they arise.
Andy has a BSc in Computer Science and has worked in IT support since 1999. “My interest in computing was first sparked when my father brought a ZX Spectrum home from work in 1982.”
Prior to Breakwater, he was a network administrator at Easton College and worked within the support team at Norfolk County Council.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
“I run a very small record label focusing on obscure indie rock/punk bands nobody likes, as well as a music reviews website with content going back to 1997. In the summer I watch a lot of Philadelphia Phillies baseball and in the winter a lot of Philadelphia Eagles American football.”🏈
Name one thing about you that surprises people:
“I have help bands release over 75 records, mostly on vinyl.”
Andy is a book of knowledge and is always happy to help to resolve the issues. It is always a pleasure to deal with Breakwater as a whole and they are extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of issues. Thanks.
