In recent weeks we’ve not only welcomed new staff to Breakwater but three of our existing team on the service desk have been promoted!
Jamie has been promoted from Systems Engineer to a Level 3 Engineer. In his new role, Jamie will be the highest point of escalation for the service desk team. He will be dealing with some of the most complex issues that come into the service desk.
Jordan joined us in 2018 as a trainee engineer. In 2020, he took on the role of Level 1 Service Desk Team Leader. But now, we are ecstatic to share the news that Jordan has taken up the role of Service Manager. In his new role, Jordan will be working closely with all engineers on the service desk to ensure that our clients receive the best quality of service.
On his promotion, Jordan said: “A few years ago when I started as a trainee junior systems engineer, I never thought I would make it this far in such a short space of time! All of this was possible because of the resources and opportunities that Breakwater provided. With my new job role, I will be looking after the day-to-day operations and the engineers within the service desk. For example, I’ll generally manage our resources to ensure that everyone gets an equal amount of work, and to ensure that everything runs as efficiently as possible. I’m really looking forward to working closely with all of the engineers to provide our clients with the best possible service.”
Andy has been with Breakwater since its youth, having joined the team in 2007! His promotion sees his role grow from Systems Engineer – Team Leader to Strategic Services Manager. Within this role, Andy will be heading up our Network Admin side of the Service Desk. This includes managing our team of pro-active engineers who work to prevent issues from happening before they reach the client, therefore reducing downtime. This will be achieved through monitoring, data analysis and developing new methods for spotting and resolving potential problems before they arise. Andy will be working closely with the new Service Manager, Jordan Getley, to ensure that Breakwater IT support functions at the highest possible level.
On his promotion, Andy said: “Having been at Breakwater since 2007 it was a fantastic opportunity to bring my experience at the company into a new role; a role that hasn’t existed at Breakwater before. The chance to shape the position and use what I have learned over the years to do so is really exciting. I look forward to developing our pro-active support and digging into the software and data resources we have available to get the most out of them.”
As well as promoting within, we have been delighted to welcome new faces recently. This includes Tom who joined as a Trainee Junior System Engineer in August, and Mark who came on board in September as our Trainee Account Manager. We will also be welcoming more new faces to the Breakwater team in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled!
